A 61-year-old Rialto man was killed Friday when his dune buggy crashed in the Dumont Dunes off-road vehicle area north of Baker.
The man’s name is not being released pending notification of his next of kin, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner.
The vehicle was climbing a steep embankment at 11:55 p.m. when it went airborne and hit the ground. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
